Show MoreMajor Depressive Disorder(MDD) is a potentially life-threatening mental health condition characterized by significant, sometimes life-threatening, mental/mood changes, including changes in behavior, thinking, and judgment. The symptoms of depression include a depressed level of functioning, difficulty concentrating, and a tendency to over time suffer from a range of mental health conditions, including substance misuse, mental illness, and relationship difficulties. Major depressive disorder (MDD) can lead to significant impairment in quality of life and may affect patient ability to engage in meaningful life activities. Major depressive disorder is also known as post-traumatic stress disorder. It causes a deep fear of stressful situations and of dying. Individuals who are depressed should have a deep, daily fear of situations and of dying compared to their general population. Post-traumatic stress disorder may also cause feelings of embarrassment, guilt, and self-consciousness, which may be alleviated by a decrease in the levels of the executive functioning areas (EFSA) of the brain.
In general, major depressive disorder (MDD) has been associated with a variety of psychological, social, and educational factors. The association between depression and a variety of factors, including EFSA, is well established. It is believed that depression can worsen with age, family history of mental illness, and duration of depressive symptoms. In addition, a low level of stress and worry have been reported in the general population. Stress can worsen depression by increasing feelings of anxiety, depression severity, or by decreasing quality of life.
It is likely that a large percentage of individuals with major depressive disorder (MDD) have no EFSA at the time of start-up. Due to the stigma associated with these disorders, most patients seek medical treatment without realizing that they may have a diminished EFSA. EFSA is a screening tool that allows healthcare professionals to reliably determine a patient has been having a depressive episode. The results of a doctor's evaluation can be used to guide treatment decisions based on the patient's symptoms and to ensure that treatment is appropriate for the patient.
It is very important that your doctor use the highest standard of medical care when treating you. The FDA has made it very clear that they do not regulate medication for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). Additionally, the pharmaceutical company the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cannot legally sell or market medications that it has bought after it has stopped using the FDA-approved medicines. You and your doctor should use care in approving any medication that is approved by the FDA. You may be prescribed an alternative medication, but the FDA cannot approve an approved medication. You and your doctor should always speak with a licensed medical professional before starting any new medication, including new formulations of old medications.
